What are our goals?

Goals of CoCreate for Good include:

  • ·         Deepen our understanding of what new donors in our community are looking for in their philanthropic investments.
  • ·         Using the Giving Code as a guide, thoughtfully consider who might comprise our target audience of new philanthropists.
  • ·         Generate, implement, and assess two viable ideas that engage new philanthropists and/or members creativity.
  • ·         Engage our target audience directly in the creation of these ideas through a facilitated design thinking process.
  • ·         Help to bridge the empathy gap by building common ground between the Art Center and technology communities through a collaborative, high energy design thinking process.
  • ·         Involve a subset of our target audience in sustained engagement as an ongoing co-creation team that will further the work started through the project.
  • ·         Provide new philanthropists with clear avenues to access the resources of the Palo Alto Art Center.

Our six new Art and Technology Ambassadors met for the first time with our Steering committee on April 16 to develop our empathy strategy. Groups met to discuss ways we could learn more about our target audience and questions that we could ask them to understand their unique needs. Next steps include narrowing down our questions and then developing and releasing a survey!

Brainstorming

On May 14, we brainstormed! Team members worked with two separate POVs. Team 1: Overworked (by choice) tech worker wants to avoid burnout and needs a way to decompress creativity with a minimum amount of preparation or training because it is difficult to plan when you have an impacted schedule. 3.13.18--Persona and Outreach

At this meeting, we drilled down into the persona for our participants, updating and refining. We identified what is critical (need to have) for our persona, including: living or working within a 10 mile radius of the Art Center; wants to engage with the community; connection to tech community; and interested in actively participating in or learning about creativity. Other factors, such as sense of humor, curious, looking to meet new people, and significant network, were identified as "nice to have." In order to promote diversity in the group, we decided to strive to include both those who had given time and money to other nonprofits and those who have not. This will be added to gender, ethnicity, career stage, whether one has children or not, and whether a candidate has visited the Art Center not.
